About Mike

Michael D. Brady was born and raised in Brockton, Massachusetts. 
He is a lifelong resident of the City, the 9th Plymouth District, and Ward 2, which he has represented since 1996, first as a Member of the School Committee (1996-1997) and then as City Councillor (1997 to present). Michael is a homeowner and resides at 28 Ellis Street. 

Michael was educated in the Brockton Public School system attending the B.B. Russell Elementary School, West Junior High School, and Brockton High School (Class of 1980).  He continued to further his education at Massasoit Community College and is a graduate of Metropolitan Life Insurance School. 

Michael has worked at various local businesses throughout the City, including Superior Baking Company, Mullare News Agency, and Massasoit Community College, facilitating the Citap Grant Program for Construction Industries Training and Placement, helping people obtain jobs in the construction industry.  He also worked with Metropolitan Life Insurance, Boston Mutual Life and several other insurance companies.  He is currently employed at the Massachusetts State Lottery, Customer Service Department.

Supports Smart Growth of business
Supports tax increment financing (TIF) to attract new business and create new jobs
Aided in the relocation of MicroWire Products, Inc. from East Boston to 120 North Main Street, Brockton.  Initiated zoning changes to facilitate the transfer.
Supported the Downtown Overlay District under Chapter 40R
Supports Safe Neighborhood Initiative which originated in Ward 2 and expanded throughout the City
Supports two-way traffic for Main Street
 
City Involvement
Worked with Federal, State and local officials to secure funding for the Shannon Grant for Public Safety and other programs important to our community
Save Our Libraries Volunteer – worked with State Legislature to support renovations and expansion of the Downtown Library
Supports Youth Build
Arnone School Building Committee

Gilmore School Playground Committee
Supported Brockton Hospital Nurses Union during the strike in 2001
Member of the former Brockton Neighbors United
